Bertil Almlöf was born in 1930 in Linköping and has always had the Östgötaslätten as a great source of inspiration. His surroundings fill him with impressions from nature and as a painter he is above all known for his original landscape motifs. The non-realistic motifs are often plains views in false colors and motifs in outline. Strong colors, often in contrast to other strong colors, are another of Almöf's hallmarks. Red and yellow often appear sometimes together with blue or green.
Bertil Almlöf was educated at Valand Art College 1953-1957 and has had an impressive number of solo exhibitions over the years. He has become one of Östergötland's and our hometown Linköping's most appreciated artists in modern times. The motif "On the plain" is a typical painting by Bertil Almlöf with clear inspiration from the Östgöta plain.
