Marika Lang - Born 1961 in Gothenburg. Art has always been a part of Marika Lang's life, her upbringing was dominated by art as her father Yngve Johansson was a painter and sculptor and Marika's mother Ruth a trained actress. Marika's painting was originally more of traditional landscapes but also consisted of abstract and surrealist motifs. Now, Marika Lang's motifs consist of the more joyous naïve kind where she gets to express the pleasures, desires and dreams of ordinary people who dance, shop, swim, go to the pub.
Marika's great talent is being able to paint these pictures so that you get the feeling that the people on the painting are moving.
