Madeleine Pyk born in Stockholm in 1934. At a young age she lived at Mosebacke Torg on Söder's heights with a view towards Katarina lift. Which in turn has become a motif she returns to in her creations. She has a solid background with studies at Konstfack 1951-55 and the Academy of Arts, 1963-67. Madeleine Pyk has made several study trips, which gives a shine to her paintings with inspiration from Africa, Brazil, etc. Her naïve style is distinctive and often expresses itself in strong colors. Madeleine is a visual artist who works based on her longing for the idyllic. Where the motif circle includes landscapes, still lifes and portraits. Recurring attributes are her patented depictions of tigers and cats. Her naïve visual sphere deals with environments; with a sense of humor, where both people and animals enrich festivities... Where Stockholm can take a new shape through influences from the Ottoman and the French. Madeleine Pyk can build up mystery in her paintings, like a fairy dance with creatures cast from her dream image. She is represented at a variety of institutions, including the Moderna Museet, Norrköping Art Museum and the City of Stockholm's collections, etc. She is associated with places such as Stockholm, Österlen and Nice, where she both works and lives. Is today one of Sweden's most popular artists.
