Andy Warhol's real name was Andrew Warhola. He was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the USA, and died in 1987 in New York. . In the mid-40s, he studied design at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh and after graduation he moved to New York. Warhol became an important innovator of art in the mid-60s and is a figure in the foreground of what is usually called pop art. Later, Warhol began to devote himself more and more to commissioned portraits.
