Tomas Lacke was born in 1976 and is active in Åkersberga, Stockholm. He is a self-taught contemporary artist who works experimentally to find new ways through art. With different styles and material choices, he has built a broad portfolio in both painting and sculpture where he focuses on modern society. His style is influenced by classical oil painting, street art and religious imagery. In artistry there is a fascination for creating something beautiful out of the darkness that surrounds us. Lacke shines a light on man and his behaviour. Our dependence on technology, our vanity and our ambivalent fear of not fitting in, yet our desire to be original.
