UNRESTRICTED CREATIVITY

In art, Lars Tunebo moves freely between expressions, techniques, and visual worlds where the idea itself is both the origin and the final goal. He carries an energetic and conceptual talent where the technology and tools are at hand to serve the ideas that seem to endlessly flow from his mind.

As an artist, Lars Tunebo is fascinated by cultural symbols and what they mean to us humans. He connects to both popular cultural and art historically important icons and examines what occurs when they intersect. Here the world of rock and classical art history meets. Botero and Picasso merge playfully in an encounter with Mickey Mouse. Jean-Michel Basquiat interacts in an exciting combination with the Rolling Stones' "tongue" logo. Combinations of recognizability that despite (and thanks to) this become uniquely "Tunebo".

THE ANIMALS REFLECT OUR CONTEMPORARY TIMES

In the same spirit as Basquiat, Warhol and Picasso, the artist Lars Tunebo moves with a curiosity about the present and its big questions. In sitting artistry, one can discern a common thread where questions are asked about what role we humans play in the world vis-à-vis our fellow travelers - the dear animals, world citizens in their own right.

The works depict sharp motifs with delicious lighting depicting animals in costume, motorcycle gear and other human attributes that we are not used to seeing. This makes us relate to them as if we were familiar. A strange, humorous, and exciting reality that tickles our imagination and creates new questions. What do the suits do to us and who are we without them?

A LONG JOURNEY WITH ART

Lars Tunebo has a long journey behind him as artistically active for over 30 years. Before the successful artistic career took off, he worked, among other things, as a model in Milan. After a period of different careers, he knew that art was his true calling. As a self-taught artist, he has explored several materials and methods to find his own way and his unique expression. The first years, which according to his own statement were not always easy, gave him all the more experiences to learn from in his artistry. Painting, glass, photography, bronze, and mixed media are now part of his artistic toolbox and today he works from his studio in Gothenburg with the world as a wider field of work.

A FRIEND OF TECHNOLOGY

Lars Tunebo is not afraid to tackle the new contemporary era's artistic techniques and tools. The seemingly photographic works that Tunebo showcase are produced using the latest AI ("Artificial Intelligence") technology. The artist's toolbox may change with the times, but the process, as always, requires a brilliant idea that is skillfully executed with the right feeling and artisanal precision. Like contemporary musicians who use the music studio as an instrument, Tunebo uses the tools of technology to realize the ideas in as fair a way as possible. Lars Tunebo's creative process is a dance of layers and techniques where a marriage between digital technology and manual painting functions as a portal that transforms the animal kingdom and urban environments into something new and unexpected.
