Ian Rusth (born 1950 in Trollhättan) is a sought-after Swedish artist, active in Majorna in Gothenburg. In his colorful naiveism, stately turn-of-the-century villas coexist with buses, dogs, picturesque outdoor dining and romantic buildings. The thoughts are taken to Paris, which has long been an important inspiration for Rusth. He is a self-taught artist whose first exhibition took place in an old tobacco shop in the late 70s and has since become one of Sweden's most loved artists. He creates the recognizable frames with his own hands from door linings from old demolition sheds. The beautiful, subtle and slightly enigmatic motifs have charmed art collectors in Great Britain, France, the Netherlands and Norway and are also sold at auctions far outside Gothenburg. Welcome to enter the magnificent fantasy world of the narrative naïvist Ian Rusth.
