Pierre Rådsten (b. 1982, active in Nässjö) is known for his fantastic narrative naivety, characterized by a colorful palette. In his paintings, the viewer is met by influences from early naïve movements with people gathering in idyllic settings and crowds. With a playful accuracy, Rådsten creates detailed oil paintings that invite the viewer to a life-affirming journey in the positive signs of naivety. In true storytelling joy, he invites us to open the door to idyllic restaurant environments, crowds of people and beautiful natural scenes inspired by his upbringing and childhood memories from gastronomy in both France and Sweden. Pierre Rådsten's creativity began at a young age with a paint box he received as a gift. Self-taught by nature, he has taken great inspiration and learning from his grandfather, the artist Rune Rådsten, whose artist friends included names such as Sven X:et Erixson and Otte Sköld.

IMPRESSIVE RICHNESS OF DETAILS
Pierre's densely painted motifs are filled with well-crafted details that invite the viewer to explore his stories. Often each artwork takes months and many coats of oil before Pierre is satisfied. Naivists are not always known for technically detailed and well-worked motifs, but Pierre Rådsten is an exception.
IDYLLIC SCENES BUSTLING WITH LIFE
In Pierre's detailed motifs, we encounter strong influences from the naïve artists of the early 20th century. His motifs are full of idyllic environments, businesses, and crowds of people. In the motifs, a recurring theme is restaurants and cafes with chefs and waiters as his father was head chef.
"I always have paper and pencil with me. If I find a nice environment, I sketch the artwork directly on the spot. Colors, shapes and details are added and rearranged so that they fit my inner image."

Pierre Rådsten (b. 1982) has always been interested in color and a painting kit he got as a gift at the age of five became the starting point for creation. Pierre is self-taught and has learned a lot from his grandfather Rune Rådsten, an artist who in his time spent a lot of time with renowned artists such as Sven X:et Erixson and Otte Sköld.
TECHNIQUE AND HUMILITY
FOR PIERRE, NAIVISM IS PAINTING FROM THE HEART
The old men in Pierre's paintings have been with him since childhood. From the beginning he tried to make them realistic with neat shapes but that didn't give Pierre anything. He was influenced by his grandfather's older artist friends and created his own visual language that stuck.
