Bertil Vallien is a Swedish glass designer and ceramist, a world artist with a long list of achievements. Vallien works primarily in glass and has developed a unique and distinctive style with sculptures in sand-cast glass, often depicting boats and heads. Vallien deals with the existential by filling the works with symbolic messages. His imagery triggers the thinking process in us, the viewer. It becomes a suggestive encounter. Like dreams that want to speak to us. As if a presence is present, which is nevertheless difficult to grasp and interpret.

Vallien is one of the world's foremost glass designers and is represented around the world and has been awarded the "Visionaries Award Museum of Art and Design" in New York, 2001. He was appointed honorary doctor at Växjö University (Linnæus University).
