Bertil Vallien is a Swedish glass designer and ceramist, a world artist with a huge track record. Working primarily in glass, Vallien has developed a unique idiosyncratic style of sandcast glass sculptures, often depicting boats and heads. Vallien deals with the existential, by filling the works with symbolic messages. His imagery sets us viewers in motion. It will be a suggestive meeting. Like dreams that want to speak to us. Vallien is one of the world's foremost glass designers and is represented around the world and has been awarded the "Visionaries Award Museum of Art and Design" in New York in 2001. He was appointed an honorary doctorate at Växjö University (the Linnaean University).
