"TO BE COMPLETELY IN THE NOW, THE JOY, THE LAUGHTER AND THE LUST"

Emilia Linderholm's painting can often be summed up by the French expression "Joie de vivre!" which means "lust for life!". Emilia says: "I feel that the lust for life is hugely important - and to actively search for it in your everyday life. Those times when we are completely in the moment, the joy, the laughter, and the lust!"

For Emilia Linderholm, color is as important as the air she breathes. It gives her energy, comfort, and joy. Color is a consistent theme in her creations and gives the viewer joy and inspiration but also moods of reflection and contemplation.

PAINTING AND OPERA - A REWARDING COMBINATION

Emilia Linderholm grew up in a family of artists in Vaxholm, Sweden. Mamma Lena Linderholm is one of Sweden's most famous female artists. Father Gösta Linderholm was a popular singer, poet, and musician.

One day the opera director Thomas Jahnke moved into a neighboring house. He and his friends sang and played the piano in the garden. Emilia felt that it was where she belonged and fell in love with the opera environment. The breakthrough for Emilia's painting came in her twenties. Lena Linderholm had an exhibition, Emilia contributed some works in the Skagen style that were highly appreciated. The shift from opera to painting came a few years later in New York with the realization that "There are lots of talented opera singers who can portray a perfect Carmen. But only one who can shape and create with my expression in painting and form.”

Emilia's painting is strongly influenced by the opera. It gives a distinctive expression and perspective when she lets the women of the motifs act and portray life's different roles and emotions.

A LONG AND REWARDING COLLABORATION

"In 2013, a gallerist, who had seen a work at my mother Lena Linderholm's house, called me. He liked the painting very much and asked if we could meet and, possibly, start a collaboration. He had just founded an art gallery called Galleri Melefors. I, who had just started to invest fully in the art became happy and after an initial meeting, overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and sense of professionalism that permeated the newly started gallery, I said YES!" – Emilia Linderholm.

In 2023, Galleri Melefors celebrates its 10th anniversary and Emilia Linderholm has an obvious place with her artworks that have captured and charmed so many customers and visitors over the years! A foretaste of the coming decade's collaboration.

"WHEN THE DRESSES CAME OUT OF THE OVEN, THEY HIT ME RIGHT IN THE HEART"

Emilia has designed glass art for more than 15 years at various cabins. Since December 2019, her glass art has been mouth blown together with the glass sculptor and cabin master Amy Krüger. Emilia also collaborates regularly with glass master Micke Johansson. Together, they create, among other things, the award for the annual Web Service Award.

Through Emilia Linderholm's glass dresses, the feeling in the oil paintings is captured, channeled, and manifested in beautiful shimmering glass. The glass dresses are available in four sizes and several colors. Botanize in the catalog at the link below:
