Jonas Nilsson
Jonas Nilsson (b. 1968, Uppsala) has established himself as one of our foremost nature painters in watercolor and oil. The portrait-like bird motifs, often calmly depicted with silhouettes against shiny water mirrors, have become his hallmark. The motifs are characterized by a strong love for our nature in all its detailed colors and shapes. In Jonas Nilsson's depictions, the animals become more than just examples of their species, they become living individuals with their own expressions. From an early age, Jonas Nilsson followed his family out into the woods and fields, always with his sketchbook ready while his parents picked mushrooms and berries. His debut exhibition came when he was already 15 years old and since then his artistry has resulted in over 40 exhibitions in Sweden and internationally. In 2005, he exhibited at Bruno Liljefors' home, Österbybruks Herrgård, and he has participated in the prestigious "Birds in Art" in the USA on several occasions. Jonas Nilsson lives and works in Uppsala.
Upcoming Exhibitions
Art is best experienced live. Openings are arranged at the gallery approximately once a month, all year round. Here you can experience a wide selection that alternates between contemporary art, where the artist himself is often present, and classic or modern collections.
