Ragnar Sandberg artist (1901-72) Young Sandberg grew up in Stenungssund, studied with Bjurström in Valand, Sandberg's lyrical canvases flicker with intense sunlight and clear color chords, sometimes with elements of sooty blackness. Through his sublime palette that fleetingly alternates between color expressionism and pale pastel tones, he created a steadfast role for himself in his contemporaries. In 1947-49, Sandberg was professor of drawing at the Academy of Arts in Stockholm, and in 1949-59 he continued as professor of painting. He was also a member of the Academy of Fine Arts.
