Ian Rust (born 1950 in Trollhättan) is a sought-after Swedish artist, active in Majorna in Gothenburg. In his colorful naïveté, grand turn-of-the-century villas coexist with buses, dogs, picturesque outdoor cafes and romantic buildings. Thoughts are taken to Paris, which has long been an important inspiration for Rusth. He is a self-taught artist whose first exhibition took place in an old tobacco shop in the late 1970s and has since become one of Sweden's most beloved artists. He creates the recognizable frames with his own hands from door linings from old demolished shacks. The beautiful, subtle and slightly enigmatic motifs have charmed art collectors in Britain, France, the Netherlands and Norway and are also sold at auctions far outside Gothenburg. Johan Melefors, born 1971, founder and CEO of Galleri Melefors grew up in a family that is the third generation in the auction and antique industry. Already while growing up, Johan developed an interest in art and since the early 1990s has collected and traded in classic, modern and contemporary konst.Galleri Melefors in Linköping, he started in 2013 when he moved home from Stockholm to his hometown of Linköping, which he then thought lacked an art shop and a gallery with a wide range of established collector's art and a well-thought-out and future-interesting contemporary catalog to view.
