Anshelm Schultzberg (1862–1945) was a Swedish artist born in Falun. He was educated at the Technical School and the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, as well as through study trips to France, Italy, Holland and Belgium. Even before his time at the Academy of Fine Arts, he copied landscape paintings by Düsseldorf artists at the Nationalmuseum, which sparked his interest in landscape painting – a subject area that would characterize his entire artistic career.
Schultzberg is considered a representative of the realistic landscape art and the national romantic style that was popular during the late 19th century. He became particularly known for his depictions of Swedish landscapes, often winter scenes where sunlight breaks through the snow and nature.
His works are represented at the National Museum in Stockholm, several Swedish museums, and museums in the USA, Hungary, and Italy.
