The Halmstad group

The Halmstad Group, Sweden's own portal to the magical world of surrealism, was formed in 1929 by six visionary artists: brothers Axel and Erik Olson, Esaias Thorén, Sven Jonson, Stellan Mörner and Waldemar Lorentzon. Together they created an artistic movement that introduced the exciting expressions of modernism into Swedish art.

The group became known for their dreamlike landscapes, mystical symbols and a fascinating combination of realism and fantasy. Each painting is like a journey into the unknown – filled with color, form and stories that touch both the heart and mind.

The Halmstad Group paved the way for a new era in Swedish art and is today synonymous with creativity, innovation and timeless elegance. Their works are not just art – they are experiences that continue to enchant and inspire generations of art lovers.
