Stellan Mörner (1896–1979) was a Swedish artist and writer known for his work in painting and scenography. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and later in Paris, where he was inspired by the expressive language of surrealism. Mörner was one of the founders of the Halmstad Group, an artist group that worked to introduce surrealism and modernism to Sweden. His work is often characterized by dreamlike, symbolic motifs with surrealist elements, where he combines realistic details with abstract forms. In addition to his painting, he was also active as a scenographer and illustrator, and he had a significant influence on Swedish modernism during the 20th century.
