Hans Gustaf Ivar Morsing, born September 12, 1919 in Angelholm, died December 5, 2009, was a Swedish painter and graphic artist. He was the son of the artist Leopold Morsing and Edith Johansson.
Morsing grew up in Stockholm and on the family farm Källeholm, in Åby parish, north of Kalmar. He received his first art education from his father and then studied at Edvin Ollers and Grünevald's painting schools. The debut exhibition at Modern art in the home took place in 1946. He subsequently traveled in Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal and North Africa.
The dominant feature of his art are the powerful, light-filled brushstrokes, which build up the paintings broadly and thickly. Often a shape or figure (not infrequently a pair) in a suggested room or landscape is the central point, from which energetic brushstrokes radiate in bright colors. Morsing is represented at, among other places Modern Museum and Kalmar Art Museum.
