Axel Olson
Axel Olson (1887-1979) was a prominent Swedish artist, known for his role in Swedish modernism. He experimented with expressionism and cubism, and his work includes painting and graphic art such as woodcuts and linocuts. Olson studied and taught at the Stockholm Academy of Fine Arts. He explored diverse subjects such as landscapes, still lifes and portraits, as well as abstract themes. With several solo exhibitions and an international presence, he is significant to the Swedish art scene during the early 20th century, and his work can be found in many public collections and museums.
