Har du en fråga om konstverket?

Peter Dahl (1934-2019) was a painter, graphic artist, sculptor and writer. He painted in an expressive realistic style with bright colors, sensual figure compositions with a critical perspective on the luxury of the upper class and the petty bourgeois environment. Through his socially critical and startling images, he became known as the great provocateur in Swedish art. Inspired by Francis Bacon's expressionism, he depicted in a series of images the course of events in Medelsvensson's daydreams about "the sweet life", in social group one. Over the years, Dahl has continued with theme painting. In 1981-84 he illustrated "Fredman's Epistles", all lithographs were shown on a tour in 1984 in the pure Bellman spirit. It was with the epistles that Peter Dahl's breakthrough as an artist came with his congenial illustrations. He is outgoing and likes to depict his own life with a touch of self-irony. There is a Swedish tradition in his painting, he likes to take up the old and renew it. In recent years his style has become softer and more sensual, his dance and bacchanal motifs have taken on rococo features. Peter Dahl is one of the truly great artists of our time.

About Gallery Melefors

Johan Melefors, born 1971, founder and CEO of Galleri Melefors grew up in a family that is the third generation in the auction and antique industry. Already while growing up, Johan developed an interest in art and since the early 1990s has collected and traded in classic, modern and contemporary konst.Galleri Melefors in Linköping, he started in 2013 when he moved home from Stockholm to his hometown of Linköping, which he then thought lacked an art shop and a gallery with a wide range of established collector's art and a well-thought-out and future-interesting contemporary catalog to view.
