Susanna Arwin's Porcelain Art

Susanna Arwin's most famous work is the sculpture of "the aunt with the bag" . The iconic photograph from 1985 of a woman swinging her handbag at a Nazi deeply affected and inspired Susanna. The sculpture, which has become a symbol of civil courage and against xenophobia, attracted a lot of attention when both Växjö and Varberg's municipalities refused to accept it as a donation. Together with Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd's sculpture Non-Violence, a revolver with a knotted barrel, the "aunt with the bag" has become one of Sweden's most recognized works of art in modern times.
