Per Wilhelm Cedergren (1823–1896) is considered one of the foremost Swedish marine painters of the 19th century. He grew up on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, with ships, harbors and the sea as a natural part of everyday life. His art also grew out of this proximity. With great technical skill and a sensitive sense of light and atmosphere, Cedergren depicted Swedish maritime life during a time when the sea shaped both the city and the nation.
Cedergren is represented at the National Museum and the Maritime Museum, among others, and several of his works are also in the royal collections.
We present an exclusive exhibition of works from the Cedergren family – never before shown. A warm welcome to experience Cedergren's marine world with us.
The exhibition runs from February 14th to March 7th in our new gallery at Sibyllegatan 69, Stockholm.
We warmly welcome you to experience Cedergren's marine world in the gallery.
