Charlotte Gyllenhammar has been mentioned as one of Sweden's most prominent artists. She broke through on the Swedish art scene in 1993 with the work "Dö för dig", an upside-down oak tree that floated over Drottninggatan in central Stockholm. The work received enormous attention and she has since achieved great success and is represented in several large collections, including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and Kiasma, in Finland. Her installation "Wait, the Smallest of Us Is Dead" was shown during the Venice Biennale in 2011. Her work "Ute, Flicka" is also represented outside Liljevalch's Art Gallery at Djurgården in Stockholm.
