Marie Åkerlund , born 1966 in Finspång, Östergötland. Active as an artist and designer, today lives in Lotorp with the forests and lakes just outside the house. She also has her studio there, a place where she can let her creativity flow. Åkerlund's art usually varies from soulful figures, women in various situations to mysterious forests where the viewer is drawn into evocative natural landscapes with elements of magic and dreams. She exhibits her art throughout Europe and the USA and also designs glass for Rejmyre Glasbruk. "- Painting is for me like reading a book where colors and contours become my words and the creative process an expression of my feelings."
