Olle Olsson Hagalund
Olle Olsson Hagalund (1904-1972) was a Swedish artist and graphic artist who was born in Hagalund in Solna. He lived and worked in the area and used the neighborhood as the subject of his art and came to be known by the additional name "Hagalund". In 1919 he began studying at Carl Wilhelmson's painting school and later made his debut at the age of 30 in a small gallery. His breakthrough came around 1937-41 when his art was noticed at exhibitions at, among others, Galleri Färg & Form and the Academy of Fine Arts. His art is often painted in a playful and charming tone that is reminiscent of the atmosphere in the small area north of the capital. Olsson Hagalund is today known as one of our most beloved naïve artists and is said to have once said "I am a naïve artist in order to be able to retain my childhood view of things".
Upcoming Exhibitions
Art is best experienced live. Openings are arranged at the gallery approximately once a month, all year round. Here you can experience a wide selection that alternates between contemporary art, where the artist himself is often present, and classic or modern collections.
