Martin Moldener

Martin Moldener from Linköping. His paintings take us back in time, where sources of inspiration such as van Gogh, Matisse and Chagall are remembered in both colors and movements. In his cityscapes, one can sense a creative spirit in the tradition of Sven X:et Erixon's city depictions. t.ex. The Katarina Elevator at Norrköping Art Museum. Molden calls his painting spinal cord painting. Sometimes disconnecting the brain and letting chance work. Just letting go of the power, indulging in art. Back to the primitive with simplified features in an expressionist spirit. It becomes a meeting with a lot of emotions and people's inner thoughts. Martin has a versatility in his creation where the visual sphere and words meet and take shape. We viewers can stop, reflect and listen to the sounding words that are forged under Katla's fire. Poetry and painting are embodied through imagination and emotions. His paintings depict portraits, nature and cities. There are famous faces such as Cornelis Vreeswijk, Ted Gärdestad and Marilyn Monroe with many more. The cityscapes revolve around Linköping with famous buildings such as Tekniska Verken and Linköpings Badhus.

About Gallery Melefors

Johan Melefors, born 1971, founder and CEO of Galleri Melefors, grew up in a family that is the third generation in the auction and antiques industry. Already during his childhood, Johan developed an interest in art and since the early 1990s has collected and traded classic, modern and contemporary art. He started Galleri Melefors in Linköping in 2013 when he moved home from Stockholm to his birthplace of Linköping, which he felt lacked an art store and gallery with a breadth of established collector's art and a well-thought-out and future-oriented contemporary catalog to display.
