Ian Rusth
Ian Rust

Ian Rust (born 1950 in Trollhättan) is a sought-after Swedish artist, active in Majorna in Gothenburg. In his colorful naïveté, grand turn-of-the-century villas coexist with buses, dogs, picturesque outdoor cafes and romantic buildings. Thoughts are taken to Paris, which has long been an important inspiration for Rusth. He is a self-taught artist whose first exhibition took place in an old tobacco shop in the late 1970s and has since become one of Sweden's most beloved artists. He creates the recognizable frames with his own hands from door linings from old demolished shacks. The beautiful, subtle and slightly enigmatic motifs have charmed art collectors in Britain, France, the Netherlands and Norway and are also sold at auctions far outside Gothenburg. A warm welcome to enter the narrative naïveté Ian Rusths magnificent fantasy world.
