Micke Johansson is the natural talent who once became Sweden's youngest glassblowing master. He works mainly in the techniques ariel and grail, testing possibilities and challenging the techniques. The ariel technique, which means "spirit of air" was developed by Gustav Bergkvist in 1936. “- The finest glassblowing technique is ariel”. Micke Johansson has developed and refined the technique and is now the only master in the world who blows in the double ariel technique. Micke Johansson is both a glassblower and a designer, which is an unusual combination according to Swedish tradition. He is the master glassblower who can work magic with a glass pipe!
For the spring fair collection, we have, together with Micke Johansson
created two exclusive "Melefors" editions with Ariels in an edition of 30 in each color. "Air spirits" and "Players". The name Ariel originally comes from William Shakespeare's play The Tempest where the air spirit is named Ariel. "Air Spirits" is also a tribute to the technology that was invented at the Orrefors glassworks in the mid-1930s. Each piece is completely unique as no two can be exactly alike, but the design and color combination are repeated in an edition of 30 pieces.

- When framing works, allow 2-3 weeks for the frame shop to hand-build your frame.

About Gallery Melefors
Johan Melefors, born 1971, founder and CEO of Galleri Melefors, grew up in a family that is the third generation in the auction and antiques industry. Already during his childhood, Johan developed an interest in art and since the early 1990s has collected and traded classic, modern and contemporary art. He started Galleri Melefors in Linköping in 2013 when he moved home from Stockholm to his birthplace of Linköping, which he felt lacked an art store and gallery with a breadth of established collector's art and a well-thought-out and future-oriented contemporary catalog to display.
