Jan Naliwajko (1938-2017) He is a visual artist and sculptor born in Vilnius
in Lithuania. He was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius. In the 60s he lived in Warsaw at this time with a group of young artists who organized 1963-1967 an independent art exhibition in the Barbican and other places in the Old Town. He emigrated to Sweden in 1968. Naliwajko worked in painting, graphics and sculpture. In his figurative art, he combines religious symbolism, an exalted divinity with erotic elements, which gives the compositions a vibrating mood. His work is characterized by an abundance of color and dynamic forms. Naliwajko has exhibited internationally in e.g. France, Switzerland, USA. He also incorporated his dream of painting alongside his idol, Salvador Dalí.
