Paco Raphael's (b. The Hague, 1975) artistry has taken him around the world from his hometown of The Hague. With solo exhibitions in New York, international fairs and representation in over 20 countries, Paco Raphael has made his international breakthrough in recent years. His creation combines image and material into an unexpected vulnerability. Form, color and symbolism complement each other and link people with nature and the urban. The existing image or object is only a starting point, a blank canvas, for what can become. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Paco Raphael to Sweden!

The basis of Paco Raphael's creation is the urban city environment. Skylines, grand avenues, neon and an intense tempo form the basis which is then mixed with expressions from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Cinematics, music, fonts, architecture and erotica from posters and media of the time. The combination of new and old in the urban creates motifs that Paco captures on canvas. The foundation is created digitally to be completed by hand using classic techniques such as brush and paint. The result is a playful homage to urban life through the decades that vibrates with colors and multifaceted expressions. Photo: Hans Runesson

In every work of Paco Raphael exists a small part of his soul. When Paco Raphael creates, he does so without limits and with one hundred percent focus. The passion finds its outlet in many forms and Paco likes to experiment and often to find new ways to get an outlet for his inner self.
