Astrid & Kajsa

47 000 SEK

Astrid loved her horse. The farm's stables were full of horses, but Kajsa was her favorite. The rides often went through the forest up to the height where she could look out over the farm's property. She saw the smoke rising from the servants' quarters at the mill and people were constantly on the move. Astrid enjoyed her alone time in the saddle. One late summer, Kajsa died. Astrid was devastated. She missed her beautiful mare. The months passed and Christmas was at the door. Her husband gave the utility cartridge to Astrid in a large, well-wrapped package. The gift of love did not land as the patron wished. Astrid burst into tears when she saw Kajsa's head again. This time after the conservator skillfully preserved the horse's beauty. It took weeks before Astrid spoke to her husband again. They agreed that the memory of Kajsa is good enough and the stuffed horse head was allowed to leave the Manor. Today, Kajsa hangs out on another farm a few forests away.

"Silent Stories" is an art project created by husband and wife Andreas Lundberg and Annie Vesterdahl Lundberg. Andreas is a photographer with a background in advertising, fashion and documentary photography. Annie is a hairdresser, make-up artist and, in the project, also a stylist. Each piece is inspired by a true story or fate. Andreas and Annie have made their own interpretation of these stories and sometimes they have changed the era and place. The creative process is often long and exciting, a constant search for a story that they can fantasize about and turn into a work of art. Hundreds of sketches that are turned and twisted eventually become a photograph. The art project Silent Stories started in 2016. Each work is signed and numbered in a limited edition. The stories that inspired the photographs are attached to the back of the works.
