"In 1798, Napoleon rode into Cairo on a white horse, and the tricolor was raised over the city. That same year, Christine Egypta Bonaparte was born. She was given the name Egypta to honor her uncle’s campaign in Egypt. Christine grew up in a Europe undergoing great upheaval. She moved between France, England, and Italy, where she was given the title of princess. In her late teens, her father Lucien introduced her to a Swedish count from Dalsland. Count Posse proposed to Christine, but he first had to return to Sweden to seek approval from King Charles XIV John. In 1818, the wedding took place, and Christine followed her count to the cold country of the North. It is said that when her carriage rolled along the Skållerud road toward the Upperud ironworks, she was greeted by children who welcomed her with wild strawberries strung on blades of grass. She loved wild strawberries. But perhaps that was the only thing she loved about her new life. Living in a manor deep in the forests of Dalsland, with its harsh winters, was not what she had imagined. She missed her life in southern Europe and was often seen riding around in her carriage, reading French novels. It is said that she would tear out each page she read and let it drift away in the wind. After a year, she packed her bags and moved to Paris. The count is said to have warned his subordinates: 'Never marry a Frenchwoman.'"

"Silent Stories" is an art project created by husband and wife Andreas Lundberg and Annie Vesterdahl Lundberg. Andreas is a photographer with a background in advertising, fashion and documentary photography. Annie is a hairdresser, make-up artist and, in the project, also a stylist. Each piece is inspired by a true story or fate. Andreas and Annie have made their own interpretation of these stories and sometimes they have changed the era and place. The creative process is often long and exciting, a constant search for a story that they can fantasize about and turn into a work of art. Hundreds of sketches that are turned and twisted eventually become a photograph. The art project Silent Stories started in 2016. Each work is signed and numbered in a limited edition. The stories that inspired the photographs are attached to the back of the works.
