Esther was John's fairytale princess. Her blonde curls and graceful body fit perfectly into his fantasy world. Esther met John at the Art Academy in Stockholm. She went to the so-called Womens department and they were first seen as friends but then became a couple. Their relationship alternated between strong passion and jealousy. They married and Esther reluctantly interrupted her art studies and moved with John to the countryside. Their house was located in untouched nature on a birch-clad headland. Vast forests spread out around the lake below which was filled with lush and richly vegetated islands. This was John's realm. Esther tried to fit into John's world but she felt very alone. She persuaded John that they should move to Stockholm. During the move, the boat sank during a storm on Lake Vättern. The Bauer couple and their son died in the accident.

"Silent Stories" is an art project created by husband and wife Andreas Lundberg and Annie Vesterdahl Lundberg. Andreas is a photographer with a background in advertising, fashion and documentary photography. Annie is a hairdresser, make-up artist and, in the project, also a stylist. Each piece is inspired by a true story or fate. Andreas and Annie have made their own interpretation of these stories and sometimes they have changed the era and place. The creative process is often long and exciting, a constant search for a story that they can fantasize about and turn into a work of art. Hundreds of sketches that are turned and twisted eventually become a photograph. The art project Silent Stories started in 2016. Each work is signed and numbered in a limited edition. The stories that inspired the photographs are attached to the back of the works.
