"Astrid loved adventure. She was a writer and photographer who traveled the world. As a photographer, she was among the young group who broke through in the early 1950s, representing a new approach, particularly in fine art photography. At just 20, she embarked on a tour of Europe on a newly acquired motorcycle, creating photo essays along the way. When she returned, a motorcycle journalist asked her why she named her bike ‘Rödmyran’ (The Red Ant). She replied, ‘I thought it was so feisty, and well, it was red.’”

“Silent Stories” is an art project created by Andreas Lundberg and his wife, Annie Vesterdahl Lundberg. Andreas is a photographer with a background in commercial, fashion, and documentary photography. Annie is a hairstylist, makeup artist, and also serves as the project’s stylist. Each piece is inspired by a true story or life experience, interpreted by Andreas and Annie, sometimes with altered time periods or locations. The creative process is often lengthy and exciting—a continuous search for a story they can reimagine as an artwork. Hundreds of sketches are refined until they finally become a photograph. The *Silent Stories* project began in 2016, with each work signed and numbered in a limited edition. The stories inspiring the photographs are attached to the back of each piece.
