Frequently Asked Questions
Andreas Lundberg - Le Triboulet
Andreas Lundberg (b. 1973) is a Stockholm-based fine art photographer with a story-driven and expressive imagery. In the project Silent Stories, created together with his wife Annie Vesterdahl Lundberg, real-life events are transformed into timeless photographs that invite the viewer into a world of human experiences.
"Triboulet was born in France in 1479 and worked as a court jester for Kings Louis XII and Francis I. He was known for being extremely witty, often to the point of getting into trouble with royalty and nobles after going too far with his jokes. Once, Triboulet couldn't help himself and slapped Francis I on the buttocks, much to the delight of the surrounding nobles. The monarch lost his temper and threatened to execute Triboulet. A little later, the monarch calmed down a bit and promised to forgive Triboulet if he could come up with an excuse that was even more insulting. To which Triboulet replied: "I am so sorry, your majesty, that I did not recognize you! I thought you were the queen! In the end, Triboulet took his jokes too far and Francis I ordered that Triboulet be killed for once again violating orders not to joke about the queen. Since Triboulet had served Francis I for many years, he was given the choice of how he would die. Triboulet is said to have replied: "Good lord, by Saint Nitouche and Saint Pansard, patrons of madness, I ask to die of old age. Since he had no other choice but to laugh, Francis I ordered that Triboulet not be executed but instead banished from the kingdom."

Johan Melefors, born 1971, founder and CEO of Galleri Melefors, grew up in a family that is the third generation in the auction and antiques industry. Already during his childhood, Johan developed an interest in art and since the early 1990s has collected and traded classic, modern and contemporary art. He started Galleri Melefors in Linköping in 2013 when he moved home from Stockholm to his birthplace of Linköping, which he felt lacked an art store and gallery with a breadth of established collector's art and a well-thought-out and future-oriented contemporary catalog to display.
