Margaret Melin is a ceramicist and has her workshop in Norra Grundsund, where she both turns utility ceramics and sculpts and fires Raku in various techniques. Melin's artwork has a clean design language where she strives to create clean forms where the beautiful aesthetics are at the center. Her sculptures are inspired by the rhythm of dance and the movement of the body. She is driven by learning new things, experimenting and exploring new forms and methods. The sculptures are unique and each specimen is sculpted from scratch.
"The sculptures are long in form and express different attitudes both through the posture of the head which can be cocky or humble and through the movement of the body which is subtle. They are fired in copper matte or in glazed raku."
