A romantic rowing trip in the picturesque bay, a moonlight walk over the rocks. Tar and seaweed fill the air with their scents. Red fishing huts and creaking piers next to mirror-like water. Sven X:et Erixson, one of our greatest, also a strong role model for many contemporary artists, invites you to an idyllic coastal motif with a romantic summer feel.
Sven Erixson (1899-1970), today better known as the X, is a significant artist in modern Swedish painting who never allowed himself to be classified under labels or style concepts. His production is characterized by a spontaneous and temperamental style in brilliant color scales. Erixson's painting oscillates between a fierce, almost ruthless desire for expression and easily moved lyricism. With exuberant storytelling joy, he recounted his joy in life and his experiences. He also co-founded the group Färg och Form.
